Keyboard Layout and Note Letters

The keys on the keyboard are arranged in a predictable pattern. The groupings of black notes (depending on how many keys your keyboard has) could start with one group of two black keys (separated by white keys) or with one group of three black keys (separated by white keys). When one locates one group of two black keys (anywhere on the keyboard) the very first white key beside the left black key (moving to the left) is a "C" key or note.

The note letters are the first seven letters of the Alphabet. A, B, C, D, E, F, G. After the "G" the letters repeat starting at "A" when moving left to right. The reverse order applies when moving right to left. The following diagrams will help further explain this.
