In order to get started playing your guitar the information in this module is designed as a source of reference. Most of the information does not directly apply to the course content of required learning but is useful in preparing to go through the assignments. It is recommended a student study these sections of Classroom 1, Module 1, to have an introduction to basic knowledge that is beneficial to guitar players.
Knowing the names of the parts of a guitar can help in a variety of situations. Guitars frequently need to be tuned. Some guitars are unplayable and so need to be checked for this reason before being purchased or used. Guitar music is generally communicated through reading tab and chords are taught using chord diagrams. Guitar strings sometimes need to be replaced, the skill to do this is beneficial.
